I was thrilled to be invited to contribute to A Right Cozy Christmas Crime, a festive anthology featuring thirteen authors from across the UK and EU.
My Contribution is The House on the Hill, and to give you a flavour of what’s to come…
Recently single, Jessica Winter escapes the holiday frenzy of the city for a charming cottage in the Scottish Highlands.
Nestled in a picturesque and peaceful setting, she hopes to mend her broken heart. Seeking solace in the idyllic, rustic setting, her retreat takes a turn when she discovers a body at the house on the hill.
With the local police dismissive of her concerns, Jessica decides to channel her inner sleuth and solve the mystery herself. In a cozy yet suspenseful tale, Jessica’s quest for answers leads her through a maze of secrets and surprises, proving that even in the most serene places, danger can lurk just around the corner.
What readers have had to say…
‘A Right Cozy Christmas Crime holds a fine collection of seasonal short stories offering a range of writing styles, scenarios and settings. There is murder, mystery and intrigue in abundance but also tales to warm your heart and make you smile. Follow each author as they take you through the twists and turns of their individual tales. Can you solve the mystery or is there a surprise at the end? There’s only one way to find out.
Best read with a cup of velvety hot chocolate and an extra log on the fire.’
‘I truly enjoyed reading these mesmerising cozy crime stories all set around the Christmas theme and December.
There was a lot of sleuthing going on, sleuths helping the police and an interesting tale of a missing brooch. They were all new characters and new places so that made it all the more interesting for me.
The stories were about the right length of time to be read to be called short ones. There were some dead bodies to be had, so I was happy! This book could easily be read in a day or peruse at leisure whichever you prefer. It’s a great chance to get to know some new authors especially if you are into cozy crime mysteries. A very enjoyable read.’
‘Perfect festive quick reads! I loved the wide variety of stories, and the Christmas cosy feel.’
‘This was a good mixture of cosy crimes, from America to the UK to Nigeria, and a very pleasant light read for the season.’
