And November is done!

What A Month

A feeling of normality crept in as both Publication Day and Book Week Scotland filled November with events and bookish outings.

The publication of the second edition of The Fairy in the Kettle on the 16th was a celebration. This little picture book has become a firm favourite around the world. The story inspiring kindness, thoughtfulness, and being true to yourself was first published at the end of 2016 and has gained excellent (official) reviews from all over the world. And, there was, of course, no better way to celebrate than with a school visit!

The P 1, 2, & 2/3 pupils and staff of Townhill Primary School in Hamilton were a fantastic audience. Engaged in Leona’s antics, after asking an array of questions covering both the story and writing, they enjoyed bringing Leona and her friends to life in their unique ways with fairy colouring.

Brechin & Angus Book Festival

It was also delighted to be back at the Brechin & Angus Book Festival, and in person! This was a fantastic couple of days with both a pre-school and primary event on the Friday and an author talk on the Saturday. This event also gave us authors a chance to meet and mingle with each other. It’s always fascinating to see the varying takes on the different genres and hopefully our author paths will meet at other events in the future.

And a huge thank you to Sarah Archibald and Kerry Spence (seated very front) for all your hard work organising the festival…and to my youngest, who came along to help with my bookstall on Saturday. Photo credit Wallace Ferrier for The Angus County Press. Link to their article here.

The Brechin & Angus Book Festival have also created their own 2022 calendars…and I’m Miss October 2022!!! 😀 They can be purchased via the festival’s FB or web page.

Christmas Gift Sets

I have also been posting out Christmas sets and will do so up until mid-December. They contain a signed and dedicated copy of all three of the picture books in The Fairy in the Kettle series, with bookmarks, and all tied in festive ribbon with a Christmas tree decoration to colour at a cost of £27. The books would normally retail at a total cost of £28.97 so the £27 is a small discount but it also includes postage to anywhere within the UK.

Finally, I have book news coming later this week. 2022 is going to be busy, so to keep up to date with my book releases, current writing projects and upcoming events please sign up to my newsletters here.
